As climate change becomes increasingly prominent, it becomes imperative for schools to incorporate sustainability into the curriculum and make an explicit commitment to eco-literacy and our environment. School is a safe environment for students to voice their opinions, speak up for environmental activism, and most importantly, take action! As a microcosm of the city, schools set the tone for how future leaders are capable of great change. We are incredibly grateful to have a school that works closely with a sustainability consultancy firm, Metanoia. Through this collaboration, a sustainability audit was produced, allowing us to identify key recommendations to alleviate our school’s environmental impact. Here is a read of the audit’s executive summary.

We are a team of a technical sustainability professionals passionate about sustainability in schools. Metanoia is a Greek word meaning “a transformation of heart and mind leading to a change in behavior.” It describes what happens when students are effectively engaged in the rich sustainability learning opportunities their school campuses offer. We believe it is a key to achieving a more sustainable future.
