Cast & Crew

Hi, I’m Alicia. I created this show alongside Katia. Climate change is an issue that is very important to me, and I am very privileged to have such a great medium and platform to raise awareness about it. I hope that this show can empower people and encourage systemic action against climate change. We need to be informed of the disproportional effects of climate change on marginalised communities- after all, at its heart, climate change is a human issue. It’s been amazing seeing this project come to fruition, and I hope the audience enjoys the final product!

Hey, I’m Katia! As lovers of the performing arts and passionate sustainability activists, Alicia and I started this project to mobilise art as a medium for creating change in our community. What a journey it has been to meet such fantastic people and get to this stage where we can see all this hard work come together.

Hey, I’m Ewan, filmmaker for the project. When I heard about the production and how the original theatrical piece could not go ahead, I really felt for the cast and crew as they had already put a lot of work into the show, plus the fact that it’s a show about climate action really hit close to home as a fellow climate activist.

Hence, it was a real honour to have been invited to join the production to help turn the piece into a film. I wanted to retain as much of the original ideas as possible and I believe that we have created something truly unique. I really am looking forward to the premiere and sharing the incredible work everyone has put in, while at the same time, inspiring more to take part in climate action.

HEATHER SKYE IRVINE

Composer

Hi guys! I’m John. As somebody who’s trying to get more into theatre, and also learn more about sustainability and develop better habits, I was really inspired by this project and wanted to do my best to help. I play the role of Jane’s father, and much like how my character begins to understand the impact of climate change in the play, I’ve also learned a lot about the issues we face in real life.

Hello! I’m Ryan - the youngest member of the production! I play Sam, a young boy who strives to make a change for his own community. It has been a fun experience getting to learn more about our planet through theatre! This cast meant very much to me and I’ve finally understood what climate change was! I feel very grateful for the opportunity to express myself through theatre and really appreciate the cast’s efforts to help me grasp the significance of the scenes.

Hi! I’m Chih-Rong. I play the role of Melinda, Sam’s mom, and I am also one of the dancers. I learned about this production through my school’s environmental group and I was intrigued by its mission. I am honoured to have participated in this role and it was such an invigorating experience to watch the play grow into fruition!

Hi! I’m Andrea Wong. I play the roles of Mrs. Han and the politician. I am also one of the dancers for this production! I love this production because I find the way this show brings awareness to climate change through art. Climate change is such an important and impactful issue and it’s so important to do what we can to help! I had the best time working on this project with the best cast and team, and I’m so excited to see the final product!

JOSEPHINE YIP

Hi! I’m Josephine, one of the composers for this production along with Nick. When I first heard about this play, I was fascinated by its storyline and unique medium of combining arts with the climate crisis. While most resources inform their audiences through words or visuals, perhaps such a multimodal production can offer a new perspective on the urgent state of our environment. I thoroughly enjoyed the impeccable acting skills repeatedly sending chills down my spine as I replayed the film to develop musical ideas – it is a privilege to have been a part of this production!

Hi! I’m Heather Irvine and I play the role of Jane, the show’s young activist for the environment. I was drawn to this project because of its call to action for the serious climate issue we now face. To be a part of something with such global significance is really special to me; no matter where you’re from, we’re all facing the same issue when it comes to the environment. The experience has been amazing despite Covid restrictions, and it’s wonderful to see what a group of passionate young people can achieve despite the obstacles we faced.

TARA JADE LOSECAAT VAN NOUHUIJS

Hello, I’m Tara Jade! I play the role of Jane’s mother, a former-activist dealing with the conflict between her values and responsibilities. It was such a joy working alongside these incredible individuals in order to create a powerful production that tackles contemporary issues. Admittedly, I was in constant awe with each cast and crew member, they never cease to impress me with their talent and compassion towards this project. Through this experience, not only did I have the opportunity to pursue my passion for theatre and activism, but I also met some of the most patient and hardworking people I know – and for that, I am forever grateful.
